My experience is both from books and hands on. In 1993, I became a journeyman boilermaker. After that I went to college and completed my adult education and vocational instructor programs. Since 2000, I have created and taught several business and trade related courses. The government has taught me how to complete one on one evaluations and my experience allows me to prepare and teach the required material. In 2006, I completed the BLUE seal in Alberta which qualifies me for trade management. My years of teaching have shown me a weakness in the college teaching system with First nations people. To fill the void I created 6 courses which include 4 trade related and 2 professional courses. The trade related courses start at the pre-trade level and end with a construction supervisor program. The professional courses include a vocational instructor and entrepreneurship program. It’s my goal to be able to equip people no matter where they are in life.

Michael Yeung has regional exposure of apparel and textile related industries in Asia Pacific region and he has been working in the field of garment accessories and trims for over 18 years, covering zippers, buttons, hangers, brand identity products, packaging materials of attaching / fastener products and cable ties, and so forth.

Michael is also a qualified QMS and EMS Lead Auditor since early 90s�. He is providing management consultancy and business re-engineering services for both local and overseas enterprises. Michael has extensive and wide spectrum of management consultancy experiences in the fields of textiles, apparels, property management, shoes, plastics & metals, toys, quality control, testing services and garment accessories. He has already assisted a number of clients in establishing management systems complying with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO13485 and SA8000, as well as product certification like Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (Class I and II) and other eco-requirements of individual buyers in the States and Europe, like water footprint and carbon footprint, as well as waste water management.

In the past few years, Michael has been actively involving in Six Sigma training, quality improvement projects and other management training courses. Green manufacturing, energy efficiency and environmental friendly products are focused by Michael recently. Michael�s past experiences in supplying functional fastener products to toy industry and his laboratory testing background will definitely support his new market development in toy safety, conformity and risk management.

Michael is also actively involving in Nanotechnology which is a value added and new concept to the industry. Michael is a shareholder of Nano Tech Limited and KATEC Nano Technology Limited which are based in HK and China. The focus of the said companies is to manufacture and apply the right nano particles to a wide spectrum of products like footbath, textiles, garments, trims, medical devices, engine lubricants and so forth. Michael also works closely with nano R&D centers like NAMI and University of Science and Technology in HK.
