I have been in the steel trades for over 25 years. During that time I have worked in aerospace, mining, fabrication, energy, manufacturing and even niche markets such as film and television fabrication.

Dual Ticketed in both Red seal Welding and Fabrication I have also attained the business credentials in Blue Seal trades certification. LEAN (5S) Certified, TOWES Test administrator Certified, and OH&S Level 2 Certified.

Currently teaching in the Mining, Energy and Manufacturing division of a Post Secondary institution in Canada I still operate my private Welding, Fabrication and Consulting Business.

I also hold a Chair position for the Canadian Welding Association and am currently also contracted to write rubrics and curriculum for the Canadian Welding Bureau.

Marwan Alkarout has over 10 years of experience in the Education field both as an Instructor and administrator. He lived and worked in Asia for a number of years in addition to travelling extensively throughout the region. He has a great deal of experience teaching international students both in an educational institution and company setting. Marwan Alkarout has attained B.Ed and M.A degrees, a CITP designation for International trade, a DACUM Certificate-Levels 1&2, a Business certificate and he is a published author of 2 English language books for the Korean and Chinese markets. He worked at NAIT as coordinator of Student Life managing Student Services, Students Residences and The Recreation Centre. Most recently, he was part of a business start-up importing and selling health products, on-line.

I am working in different area of business for the last 12 years. I have also worked in teaching and learning, which includes training the staff. My previous assignment with a not for profit organization provided me opportunities to work in teachers’ training, curriculum designing, school management, and other relevant areas. I have also worked as an education consultant & counsellor and taught and trained the students of English language including ESL and business administration.
